Salvage excavations at Yenikapi in Istanbul, Turkey have unearthed in the Theodosian Harbor the largest collection of medieval ships ever uncovered at an excavation site – 37 ships from the 5th to 11th century CE.

Prof. Kocabas, who directs “The Yenikapi Shipwrecks Project,” will present new findings on shipbuilding traditions and techniques in the Mediterranean region.
