Arts and Humanities Research Computing, the Academic Technology Group, and the Office of Scholarly Communication will jointly lead an introductory workshop on eBook publishing on 10 May in the Barker Center. We hope that you will be able to attend. The workshop will be organized in two sessions. During the morning, we will present information on both open source and proprietary eBook technologies including EPUB and iBook tools and formats. There will also be a session describing current faculty eBook projects at Harvard followed by a panel discussion.

Lunch will be served accompanied by a technology fair. Then during the afternoon a hands-on session limited to 20 participants will lead attendees through the process of composing an eBook chapter. Participants must bring their own laptops and are strongly encouraged to bring examples of the media types that they would like to incorporate in their eBooks (e.g., text, .jpg and .png images, .mp4 and QuickTime audio and video).
